  1. Hi Gustav and all,

I have a problem trying to create the index text on polygon by turning on "ConstructionsVisible", just like the one in the attached file "advanced_fabrication_options.txt". I attached my file "Light_1.txt" for your reference.

I will be grateful if you could help to fix it or let me know if there is any other alternative method to create the text.

    Many thanks!

  2. Hi Ling,

I created the index text as you intended here, check if you have got this already or not.

  3. Hi Tom,

Thanks a lot for the reply. My next question is how to have the text written on an excel file. I tried to put "polygon02.Key" as the input to value in excel WriteVale but it seems "Key" is not an acceptable input. Good if you could tell me the right way to do it.

  4. hi Ling, I suppose you would like to export an excel sheet with the indices and some corresponding values to it. well, Key itself is not an acceptable value... but you can always construct the indices in excel as anyway they will be in sequence. is that a easier way out? otherwise, we will look into ways getting the values of 'key'

  5. I am interested to know how to get the values of key to excel if this is possible. This will be useful when I develope the project further. Many thanks for your help.

  6. hi ling,
remember to pay attention to the case sensitivity, in some places your "polygon02" is named "Polygon02" which in the head of gc is something entirely different.
for the excel output - why do you want to do this exactly? as far as i can tell it would give you a list of indices and nothing more.

  7. well, I just saw now that the same question has been posted on the be communities forum, and resolved: http://communities.bentley.com/forums/thread/30561.aspx
i suppose from there to output to excel should be trivial :)
