  1. I've made a simple component with variable curve and height but when i exported to DWG to be rendered in 3dmax with Vray the component becomes distorted and I lost all the curves and circles. Any suggestion or do I need to use rhino/microstation to maintain the quality?

I've attached the sample render and the original GC file.

  2. dwg is a mesh format so all your curved stuff will in one way or other be approximated by either line segments (for curves) or triangles (for surfaces). make sure you're exporting in a high enough resolution into dwg ("number of faces/polygons" something like that in the export options must be high enough) and you should see some satisfactory results.

  3. thanks Gustav.

It looked and render fine in AutoCAD itself (image 2) but when I file link to 3dMAX it just get distorted. Have tried increasing the mesh quality and curve steps but it just doesn't cut it.

It might be the 3dmax is corrupted, was not very healthy since i update the graphic driver. will keep trying.
